Emailchemy 14.1 is now available for download. This version fixes some bugs and adds automatic checking for new versions. It also adds data privacy notifications that let you know when/what/how/why any data is sent to Weird Kid Software.
Because of new regulations in the European Union, any company anywhere in the world that has customers in the EU has to provide basic assurances that customer data is being handled with care. As a result, you may have noticed a lot of “we value your privacy” emails from all kinds of companies in your inbox this past month, but there’s more to it than just sending an email, so we’ve documented anything you would need to know about how we handle your data in our updated Privacy Policy.
If you don’t want to read all that, the simple version is that we don’t really collect data about you, but should you choose to send us data, we don’t do anything shady with your data, and we’ll delete it when we’re done with it (or whenever you ask). Many of our customers are in law enforcement, so we try to be very careful with handling data.
Regarding the automatic checking for new versions, though, it’s in there, but you won’t actually see that work until the next version after Emailchemy 14.1 is released.
