Why are all my messages blank after importing?

You are here:

This can happen when Emailchemy is used on a Windows PC to create files that are then moved to a Mac — or the other way around.  There are certain ways of moving text files between PC’s and Macs that can mess up the encoding of the linefeed character, and that can mess up how your email application sees the messages.

To get around this, try one of these solutions:

  1. Copy the original email files to the target computer (in the example above, the Mac) and run Emailchemy there to do the conversion.
  2. Use Emailchemy’s IMAP ImportServer — Emailchemy’s embedded mail server — and download the converted mail into your new email application.
