Emailchemy’s built-in IMAP server is now compatible with the Apple Mail app that comes with macOS Sierra (10.12).

Setting up the IMAP account in the new Apple Mail requires an extra step. In the Advanced IMAP Settings (found in the Server Settings tab of the Account settings in Apple Mail), you need to check the “Allow insecure authentication” box, save the settings, and then restart Apple Mail.

This setting will only affect connections to Emailchemy’s IMAP server — connections that are only between two processes running on the same computer and never go over the Internet.
